We start the class by reading books, observing pictures and discussing the topic. They can be about animals, culture, our environment, seasons of the year, or art history. Then, the children will draw, paint, or craft what they learned and process it into an art piece.

They are now nearly 6, 7 and almost 10 years old.The classes are a highlight of the holidays and the children would do as many sessions as we could manage! Young Artists is a visual arts school that has been based in Castle Hill of the Sydney Hills District for 15 years. Check the timetable for specific class times but the gym is open from Monday to Thursday and Saturday and is closed on Sunday. There are morning and lunch time sessions but on weekdays the majority of classes take place between 4-9pm and 8am-12.30pm on Saturdays. After the huge success of our last workshops we are back in January with a three day dance workshop.

It is surrounded by cafes, restaurants, shops, the library and free 3-hour parking can be found at the Westfield Shopping Centre. Only eight students per class to ensure an ideal student‒teacher ratio.
This is a structured course introducing the basics of how to draw what you see, such as still life, landscape, or portraiture. The outcome of the beginner class will give the students understanding of proportion, form, and space. Take your art adventure outdoors and explore the wonders of nature print art.

The school is run really professionally and the kids have a great time. Barbara was an excellent entertainer, the kids and adults were thrilled. She was great in the lead up to the party and very accomodating for our needs.
They also have a number of very high  profile ex-dancers on staff and as guest teachers who have had amazing careers! Our eldest daughter who is nearly five has been attending PLB since she was two and has loved every minute of her lessons. We’ve had to change locations (and therefore teachers) a couple of times and she has had a positive experience with all of them. Most recently she attended a class with Miss Ella and enjoyed it enormously.
