The elevated platforms for all but the Shinkansen are located on the east side of the station, beneath the JR Central Towers. The Tokaido Shinkansen is located on the western side. The station originally opened in 1886, and the current complex was completed in 1999.

The location is very closed to Nagoya station and you can walk to Shinkanzen entrance less than 5 minutes from the hotel. The staff was very nice, the bed was comfortable and I slept really well which was all I needed after a busy day. I could see the shinkansen passing from the window.

We managed to have 3 large suitcases, 2 travel prams and other random bags fit in the room. We also we able to sleep 2x adults and 2x kiddies - we had two rooms booked, but our infant wanted to sleep with us too. Glad it all worked out, the bed was bigger than our Queen bed at home(?) as we aren’t really able to comfortably all sleep together like that at home!!! The room is very spacious compared to other hotels. Even so, these Sento have their own history and a lot of them are as traditional, local, and picturesque as many famous Onsen.
