Taitung Places to Visit for an Awesome Adventure

It is located south of the Tropic of Cancer and east of the Pacific Ocean. It is the country’s least populous county, and half of the county’s population lives in Taitung City. The best way to get around Taitung is to rent a scooter or a car, even within the city, to get to the tourist spots,  it will be easier if you have your own mean of transportation. The easiest is to stay in Taitung City and take day trips to explore the county, but there are also a couple of nice accommodation options in the countryside.
A long stretch of road in Chihshang became famous after appearing in a Mr. Brown Coffee commercial. We spent a short while here just biking and savored the fresh country air. Located 台東必買伴手禮 at the old railway station, Taitung City converted  some of its buildings that are located near the old railway into an exhibition area for local and residential artists.

The sea-crossing pedestrian bridge and the gorgeous coral reef coast in Sanxiantai are intoxicating. Taitung is one of Taiwan’s most beautiful counties, surrounded by mountains and nature, Taiwan’s East Coast is a breath of fresh air in a country densely populated and over-developed. There are a lot of things to do in Taitung and the best way to explore all its attractions and tourist spots is by renting a motorbike or a car and just drive around. The scenery is magnificent, and at every turn, you’ll see breathtaking landscapes. It’s a popular stop for drivers on the highway just a few minutes north of Xiaoyeliu. Bus 8101 and a few others make the trip from Taitung – use GoogleMaps for the current times.

You can learn all about this research, as well as try out some Bunun crafts yourself, such as making your own paper from mulberry bark. ​​Spreading out from the steady Beinan River, the lower East Rift Valley consists of several rural townships in northern Taitung County. A sparse yet culturally diverse region, the area is home to significant Hakka and various indigenous populations. Also, you can visit Changchun Shrine, Tunnel of Nine Turns, the river terrace recreational area, and Qingshui Cliff. Among many counties and cities in Taiwan, Taitung is the base of multi-ethnic groups including Amis, Puyuma, Lukai and Bunun. Many aboriginal cultural museums and prehistoric relic exhibition halls are the biggest highlights of Taitung. In addition to the profound cultural and historical features, the natural scenery here will make people who visit for the first time love this county. In Taitung, you can see the magnificent sun rising from and falling into the Pacific Ocean.

It can be served in a lot of ways, but it is best with hot soup. If you want to taste this or buy one as a souvenir, you should head to Taiwan Mochi Museum. Here, you can taste mochi for free at the entrance and you will get also a chance to learn more about the history of mochi. Chun Cui He Milk Tea is a popular souvenir from a Taiwanese beverage brand. Locals and tourists loved the the unique flavors of the drink which is placed in a bottle container. It is also sold in other neighboring countries like Singapore where it instantly clicked and became a trend.
The second day was sunny, so we saw the one’s we’d missed, and focused more on swimming. You could squeeze most of the sights into one day, but it would be a long one. If hiking is your thing, the best and most popular hike on the island is the three hour-return hike to Big Heaven Pool (大天池), starting between Hongtou and Green Green Grassland (青青草原) . We never made it to the west side of the island during sunset, but we could enjoy beautiful sunrises from our balcony in the morning. The rep meets most flights and all ferries, but even if the person is not around, you can ask at one of the shops and they can call for you. It is one of the most famous sweets in the nation, so it wasn’t hard to find a store that sells it. Their cakes can be sweet during summer and tangy during winter. You can find the store right by Minsheng Park - a nice spot to chillax and eat. They come with unique and cute designs, handcrafted and placed within transparent containers. If you look closely, you’ll find almond nuts that are sliced thinly, adding more crispiness to the Crispy Bak Kwa. Taitung is a good place for outdoor activities, including world-class surfing and diving spots! You can also take part in mountain climbing, camping, hot springs, triathlon races, paragliding and other activities here. Taitung also hosts major international events every year, including Taiwan International Hot Air Balloon Festival, Taiwan Open of Surfing, and Taiwan East Coast Land Arts Festival.
