And down in the basement, where the Carrefour sells to all Taitung, there's a sushi restaurant, that's quite nice and supercheap. Overall, we enjoyed the walk and  snacks, the vibrancy in a seemingly quiet town. One whole street that was closed to traffic and filled with stalls selling lots of mouth-watering snacks eg. Fried sweet potato balls, takoyaki, beef steaks, beef cubes, fried chicken legs, etc.
On the historical side of it, Green Island is home to the remains of a former prison of the Chinese communist regime as well as indigenous houses. For spectacular views, follow a short path that closely resembles the Great Wall, which leads to a lookout point. Nova is better known for selling computers, laptops, and electronic parts, but it’s also home to half a dozen camera shops, downstairs. The nice thing about shopping for a camera at Nova is that you’ll find brands such as Canon, Nikon, Sony, Olympus, Ricoh, and Panasonic, all under the same roof. Paying tribute to the land of goat husbandry, the tribe is now known for its handmade driftwood  goat arts along the coast.

These markets are where you can find clothes with a traditional Taiwanese design and quality. The bridge will bring you to the island which you can explore on its trail going around it with great views all around... It takes about 15 minutes to walk from Taimali Railway Station to the hotel.
